Vijay P. Balasubramanian, M.D.   Department of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
Dr. Vijay P. Balasubramanian received his medical degree from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, India. He subsequently underwent post-graduate training in Internal medicine and Respiratory medicine in the United Kingdom and successfully acquired the Membership of Royal College of Physicians of London. He then completed his residency and Fellowship training in Pulmonary & Critical care medicine in the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. His areas of special interest include Pulmonary Hypertension, Interstitial Lung disease (Its interactions with PH in particular) and Pleural disease. His publications span a wide range of medical/pulmonary topics demonstrating his passion for clinical medicine. Conrad Chao, M.D.
Obstetrics and Gynecology Dept


Dr. Conrad Chao, the new Department Chairman and Program Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine and the OB/GYN residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.  He served his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Physiology at Loma Linda University and Oregon Health Sciences University.  His research has included work in basic neuroscience focusing on the control of fetal cerebral blood flow and metabolism, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, perinatal pharmacology, and fetal behavior, as well as, in clinical investigation, in which he directed a unit of the NIH Maternal-Fetal Medicine Network as well as serving as Associate Program Director for a General Clinical Research Center.  Dr. Chao’s current research focuses on novel strategies for the mathematical analysis of Doppler ultrasound waveforms and the clinical management of post-dates pregnancy. 




J. Phillip Hinton, M.D.
Vascular Surgery Dept
Dr. J. Philip Hinton received his education from the University of California San Francisco and completed his General/Vascular/Thoracic Surgery residency at Valley Medical Center in Fresno. Dr. Hinton joins us from his former post as President and Chief Executive Officer for Community Medical Centers. He will see patients at the Valley Vascular Surgery Associates of Fresno office with Randall Stern, M.D., Leo Fong, M.D., Chris Kinter, M.D., and Anne Prentice, M.D.

 

Ashkan Imanzahrai, M.D.
Family Medicine Dept


Dr. Ashkan Imanzahrai received his Medical Degree from Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.  He completed his residency in Family Medicine with the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. Dr. Imanzahrai conducted research in Dermatology with UCSF, where he was recipient of NIH National Service Research Award. He joins us from Kaiser Permanente in San Jose, California.  Here he will contribute to all aspects of family medicine in both a rural and urban ambulatory clinic setting and inpatient services in an urban hospital.




Jose Joseph , M.D.            Department of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
Dr. Jose Joseph received his medical degree from St. Johns Medical College, Bangalore University, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Johns medical College, and fellowship training in pulmonary and critical\care medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. He has also completed pulmonary training from the United Kingdom, program affiliated to the University of Sheffield. He is a member and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, UK. He joins us from the Faculty of Medicine & Health sciences of the UAE University where he was devoted to academic activities including clinical training and research in the capacity of an assistant professor in Medicine. His areas of special research interest are asthma, (study of airway inflammation using intracellular cytokine expression in lymphocytes) and pleural disease. Maries Joseph, M.D.  Department of Pediatrics
 
Dr. Maries Joseph received her medical degree from St. Johns Medical College, Bangalore University, India. She completed her pediatric residency and clinical genetics fellowship from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), SC. She has been in the field of academic pediatrics and joins us now from the General Authority of Health Services and the Faculty of Medicine & Health sciences of the UAE University, UAE. She is also a member and Fellow of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health of UK. Her areas of interest are genetic disorders, childhood asthma and continuing medical education in pediatrics. She will contribute towards clinical services and training in both pediatrics and clinical genetics. She will be working in both out-patient clinic setting and in-patient hospital setting.

 

Chitra Kandaswamy, M.D.       Internal Medicine Dept            

Dr. Kandaswamy received her medical degree from Stanley Medical College in Chennai, India.  She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and did her Masters in public Health at the University of Minnesota. She moved to Fresno to join the hospitalist group at University Medical Center. Dr. Kandaswamy enjoys working in a community hospital because of the wide range of pathology in both inpatients and outpatients. She is looking forward to working with our enthusiastic and bright residents.




Eric Lindvall, D.O.
Orthopedic Surgery Dept
Dr. Lindvall joins CCFMG from the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa Florida. He completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Tampa General Hospital. His medical degree is from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Pomona, CA with his internship and residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, MI.
He will be primarily based at University Medical Center (UMC). Dr. Lindvall’s wife is a teacher.

 

 

Brian Morgan, M.D.
Perinatology Dept


Dr. Morgan received his Ph.D. from the University of London and his Medical Degree from the University of Miami.  He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jackson Memorial Hospital-University of Miami Medical Center and a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. Dr Morgan joins us from Harbor UCLA where he was an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Here he will contribute to all aspects of perinatology in the community including teaching medical students and residents and continue his research in fetal programming.




Anne Prentice , M.D.
Vascular Surgery Dept
Dr. Anne Prentice completed her general surgery residency in Fresno at the UCSF-Fresno Medical Education Program. She completed her Vascular Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Prentice is practicing at Valley Vascular Surgery Associates of Fresno office with Randall Stern, M.D., Leo Fong, M.D., Philip Hinton, M.D., and Chris Kinter, M.D.

 

Henning Rasmussen, M.D.
Cardiology Dept
 
Dr. Henning Rasmussen has been a well-respected clinical cardiologist in Fresno for the past 23 years. After graduating from medical school at the University of Michigan, he spent two years in the Navy Medical Corps. His medical residency and fellowship in cardiology were completed at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Subsequently, he moved to Fresno where he is presently Assistant Director of Cardiology at Community Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Rasmussen is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is skilled in cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, permanent pacemaker implantation and transesophageal echocardiography.
 

 

Kandarp Shah, M.D.  Gastroenterology Dept
Dr. Kandarp Shah was born in London, England. He received his undergraduate training in medicine at a prestigious medical school in India, Baroda Medical College of M.S. University. He was trained in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, one of the largest internal medicine programs in the USA. He then went on to pursue gastroenterology training at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI. After completion of his training in gastroenterology, he was board-certified in gastroenterology. He was in private practice for about 18-years in the Tidewater area of Virginia, before he came to Fresno. During the time he was in private practice, he was also on Eastern Virginia Medical School’s teaching faculty for more than ten years.

Dr. Shah has a wide experience in a variety of fields in clinical gastroenterology. He provides endoscopic services which include diagnostic and therapeutic EGD, colonoscopy and ERCP.

 

Tanya C. Warwick, M.D.
Internal Medicine - Neurology Department
 
Dr. Tanya C. Warwick received her medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. She went on to complete her residency in neurology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at West Virginia University – Charleston Division where she pursued her interests in vascular neurology, gaining certification in neurosonology, and subsequently sitting for her Vascular Neurology Subspecialty Boards. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Academy of Neurology. In addition to vascular neurology, her areas of interest include epilepsy and movement disorders. Dr. Warwick has experience in both clinical trials as well as independent research and resident education. She has been appointed to the position of Medical Director for the Stroke Program at Community Regional Medical Center and will be working in both in-patient and outpatient settings to improve neurological care in the Fresno area.
